RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:
Full sun, balanced moisture, mildly acidic soils and good drainage. Sites with deep (three feet or more), well-drained loamy soils with pH values between 6.0 and 8.0 are best. Intolerant of flooding. Corrective pruning to maintain central leader as necessary. Usually 4-5 large scaffolding branches allowed.
CHILL HOURS: Medium: 700 hours below 45F
DISEASE RESISTANCE: Good. It is not as susceptible to walnut blight as most other Californian varieties.
SIZE AT MATURITY: To 40' x 30'. More upright than spreading, and naturally small for a walnut.
