A medium sized thorny tree that makes an impenetrable hedge. The Osage Orange produces a large grapefruit sized inedible fruit. Beautiful yellow fall color on a tree that grows to about 30 ft. Not related to apple trees, this widely adapted tree is actually part of the mulberry family.

POLLINATION/BLOOM TIME: Females will produce seedless fruit without males nearby; wind pollinated.
RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:
Full sun, widely adapted to many soil types except longterm standing water. Prefers heat. Tolerates salt and pollution. Pruning depends on use. Thin branches for bow wood, thick for posts or firewood, sheared for tight, thorny hedges
DISEASE RESISTANCE: Very good.
SIZE AT MATURITY: To 30'-50'
