Early mid-season ripening northern highbush. Very large berries with excellent flavor. Mummy berry resistant. Spartan Blueberry is intolerant of wet sites or heavy clay. Red fall color.

POLLINATION/BLOOM TIME: Late blooming, prefers pollinator like Duke, Bluetta, or Elliott.
RECOMMENDED GROWING AND CARE:
Full to 3/4 sun, balanced and regular moisture (especially in summer), acid soils - add peat moss or sulfur to increase acidity as needed. Reduce grass competition in root zone by applying 2-3" layer of wood chips. Apply aged manure under chips yearly - this variety feeds heavily and requires light soils full of organic matter. Not for wet or heavy soils. Cut out dead wood as needed.
