Tree Seeds

We harvest and collect seeds from trees and other plants at our own farm. These varieties are already proven producers and we only offer the best material to propagate your own nut trees from seed.

We are also a wholesale supplier of nursery quality seeds. We offer a wide variety of properly pollinated chestnut tree seeds that might otherwise be hard to find as a transplant. Our chestnut seeds are kept in cold storage.

We begin accepting seed orders in August for shipping in November/December. Some seed may still be available through the Spring.

Seed orders may be separated from plant orders to be able to ship them at optimal times. Seed orders follow the normal shipping chart. The charge will be adjusted at the time the order is shipped. Cost varies by distance and weight and volume. Different types of nuts pack very differently. The following list may be used as a guide to estimate your final charge:

1-3# chestnuts - $15.40

3-10# chestnuts - $22.95

10-15# chestnuts - $28.50

HOWARD PERSIAN/ENGLISH WALNUT SEEDS (Juglans regia)

Plump and well filled. Nutmeats have a great flavor and a light colored kernel in a well sealed easily crackable seed shell. Parent tree is compact, precocious, very high yielding, and self fruitful. Howard Persian Walnut is late leafing and blooming, making it less susceptible to late frost and blight.

BARCELONA HAZELNUT SEEDS (Corylus avellana)

Medium to large round nut. Barcelona Hazelnut is a productive and hardy standard commercial variety. Freshly harvested seed, certified organic. Approximately 100 seeds per pound. Zone 5 - 8.

JEFFERSON HAZELNUT SEEDS (Corylus avellana)

Produces the largest nut of the OSU varieties developed with blight resistance. Heavy yielding on a smaller tree. Round nuts are flavorful and fill their seed shell well, with very low incidences of blanks, shriveled kernels and mold. The dormant buds of Jefferson Hazelnut are bud mite resistant. The tree is very late blooming compared to most commercial hazelnuts.

TONDA DI GIFFONI HAZELNUT SEEDS (Corylus avellana)

A leading Italian variety, seeds commanding a premium price due to its outstanding flavor and ability to blanch perfectly. Medium sized round nuts, productive. Tonda di Giffoni Hazelnuts are highly blight and mite resistant. Pollinator for all varieties except Barcelona. Zone 5-8.

KANZA NOTHERN PECAN SEEDS (Carya illinoinensis)

Very scab resistant cultivar recently released from USDA pecan breeding program. Pollinates with Colby & Pawnee. Kanza Northern Pecan is productive of medium sized seeds of good quality that crack out easily into clean halves.

KAKAI (NAKED) PUMPKIN SEED

A fantastic pumpkin variety producing "naked" seeds - seeds without shells. Very nutritious seeds are delicious raw or lightly roasted by themselves or in trail mix, granola, with dark chocolate, in stir fry with vegetables, or on salads. 12 seeds per packet.

SEED/ Stuart Northern Pecan Seed (Carya illinoinensis)

Large, thin shelled nuts that are easy to crack. Great flavor. Stuart Northern Pecan is a large vigorous tree with good scab resistance. Early ripening for a pecan with big nuts. Grown in Zone 4-9 regions that have hot summers.
