Very hardy, of Latvian origin, before 1870. Earliest apple to ripen. Excellent sauce apple. Fragrant and tender, but window for fresh eating is small. Not a good keeper. Yellow Transparent Apple has excellent disease resistance. Early bloomer. Also known as 'Glass Apple'. Zone 2-8.
