Native to the gulf region but very hardy and widely adapted. The wood of this deciduous conifer is exceedingly resistant to decay and insects. Bald Cypress will grow in standing water and is more ornamental under such conditions producing buttress-like knees at base of trunk. Fairly fast growth. Beautiful orange brown foliage in fall, before losing its leaves. Zone 4-9.

Full to 1/2 sun, heavy moisture, heavy organic soils high in acid. Tolerates standing water.
DISEASE RESISTANCE: Very good. Can experience chlorosis in alkaline soils.
