Marquette Grape makes excellent red wine or grape juice with a very high sugar content, ripeing very early. This American hybrid is descended from Pinot Noir but is much more winter hardy, to -36° F. Full sun, balanced moisture, reduce grass competition in root zone. Top dress with compost yearly. Needs regular pruning to encourage fruit and control vine size. Dormant prune for airflow and ease of harvest. Spur bearer.
