The following plants are interesting species of trees and shrubs native to WA and OR. This is a broad geographical region incorporating Zones 3-8. The maritime northwest climate zone of which Burnt Ridge Nursery is a part of actually extends through British Columbia and into Southern Alaska. Oregon and Washington are divided by the Cascade Mountain range which creates alpine climate zones in the higher elevations and continental climate zones east of the mountains. Some of the more tender species are found only west of the Cascades in the maritime zone while others are found in both climate zones. Some northwest species are also native to many other bioregions in North America.
